Our Firm

3rd Dimension Quantity Surveyors was founded in 2004. We are a consulting firm on capital and maintenance projects. Our core business is Quantity Surveying. The objective is the delivery of better value projects to our clients within the agreed cost, time and quality. At 3DQS, we advise on initial investment, through each stage of construction to occupation.

Philosophy

We firmly believe in placing our clients’ interest ahead of our own, and endeavour reducing investment risk, eliminating waste and increasing certainty for return on investment. We value our fiduciary responsibility which allows us to provide the best possible professional and impartial advice.

Meeting Clients Needs

We acknowledge that the demands facing clients are changing. Clients are increasingly looking for superior performance in project delivery. At 3DQS, we ensure costs are kept under control, giving our clients certainty of outcome on cost and up-to date knowledge of financial status when it is required.

Management

3DQS is owned and managed by Isaac Phiri and Rodgers Sithole. Isaac Phiri is an accredited Professional Quantity Surveyor with the South African Council for Quantity Surveying Profession, and is a member of the Association for the South African Quantity Surveyors. Before founding 3DQS, Isaac Phiri worked for Thabo Senyolo & Partners, Norval Wentzel Steinberg, and subsequently Rainbow Construction.

Empowerment Obligation

To date, we have acquired skills from working with emerging contractors as their management consultants. Not only that, but we also provide internship for students pursuing studies in quantity surveying. This forms the basis of the firms drive towards transfer of skills.

What we do

3DQS provides comprehensive cost management services through six stages of a project cycle, summarised as follows:

Stage One
Assisting in developing a clear project brief.

Stage Two
Preparing preliminary and elemental or equivalent estimates of construction cost.

Stage Three
Reviewing and evaluating design and outline specifications, as well as exercising cost. control in conjunction with the other professional consultants.

Stage Four
Preparing documentation for both principal and sub-contract procurement.

Stage Five
Preparing valuations for payment certificates to be issued by the principal agent and maintaining cost control.

Stage Six
Preparing and concluding final accounts for the works.
